Automatic Rostering

This page let crew controllers automatically assign crew to flights.

Select type of crew you want to roster, or all types, and when you press Roster Now the system will assign crews according to the needs and limits set on the Roster Config page.

The day will be automatically divided into shifts based on Minimum Duty and that the plane will return to its original departure airport before shift change.

You can test the automatic shift divisions by pressing Go and you will get a report of which legs will be in each shift. If they don’t suit you can play around with Minimum Duty minutes.

At the end of each line of the schedule you can see how many crew are currently rostered to that flight.

Below you see the schedule it will roster to (from Roster Config). If it’s displaying 0:0 instead of the correct format (here 4 on : 2 off), Cancel back to Crewing page and select Auto Roster page again.

You can roster for 1 or more crew types at the time. We recommend to just do all in the one run.

This page has 4 buttons at the bottom.

“Cancel” Will bring you back to the Crew Page.

“Config” Brings you to a the Roster Config Page where you can name the crew functions and add crew to the available crew list from the system user list, plus change crew functions.

“Manual” brings you to this page of the MoonCBook manual on the MoonC.mobi website.

“Save Now” (If permission) To save the selected crew to the crew list for the legs selected.

In this version you can’t change the dates on this page but have to do it on the previous Crewing page. Also only single day auto rostering for now.

Roster out in time. For a useable result don’t roster days before today or days before previously auto rostered days.

Same day can be rostered several time if required.

If normal duty plan limit of days has been reached it will automatically roster days off according to roster config. It will also look at previous number of duty days up to max duty days in a row, to check if roster leave has been forgotten.

It will not roster duty on days requested for or confirmed as annual leave days. *Feature for requesting and approving Annual Leave holidays to be added) Non approved holiday requested days can be manually rostered.

If crew rostered but need leave, manually deassign them and assign a different crew instead.

Duty and block hours/days for each crew will be automatically calculated by a background process the night after the actual day (at 03:15  for MoonCAir) . This will be based on actual departure and arrival times as recorded by ops and actual take off and landing times for block hours if registered. If no departure or landing has been recorded, no duty or flight will be registered.
